The More Accountable Account For Individual Learners.

The Individual Learning Accounts in Wales (ILA Wales) programme has been designed to encourage individuals to take responsibility for their learning and encourage career development.

The Learning Providers are companies and organisations supplying the various training courses and programmes of learning. In order to become a registered provider, strict quality control criteria set out by the Welsh Assembly Government ILA Wales Team, has to be adhered to.

Targeting the people who need help the most.

The ILA Wales programme is targeted at individuals to provide an incentive, in the form of a discount the on cost of learning, especially those who are in receipt of Working Tax Credit, Job Seekers Allowance (Income based), Income Support, Pension Credit Guarantee/Savings or even Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit. In other words, people who need the extra money they receive to help them ‘learn a good living’.

Important Notice

In order to ensure that individuals take responsibility for their own learning, they must obtain their own application pack from learndirect through the freephone, learndirect number: 0800 100 900. Individuals should allow sufficient time for receipt of their Application Pack from learndirect and ensure that the fully completed application form is approved by the ILA Wales Team prior to commencement of learning. Learning Providers will require individuals’ ILA references in order to book learning with ILA Wales, on behalf of the registered learners.

Learning Providers shall not be issued with application forms directly nor should they request application forms on behalf of individuals.

ILA Wales aims to appeal to individuals who are in receipt of income related benefits (no matter what qualifications they have): and those who highest prior learning attainment is at level 2 or below.

ILA Wales provides an incentive, for eligible learners, in the form of a discount on the cost of a range of learning.
